Summary

The Italian DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 2,250 on the Associazione Culturale "Quadrante Sud". The controller is the publisher of an online newspaper, a data subject complained in October 2025, that an article linking her to mafia association and illegal activities, was still inexed by Google under her name, although she was fully aquitted in an investigation only into the fictitious registration of a car. In three e-mails, she had requested the controller to de-index the artivcle, while also having difficulty finding contact details. The authorities request in January 2026 also remained unanswered. The controller was fined for the failure to comply with data subjects requests for GDPR rights to the amount of EUR 1,098, also being fined on the basis of italaian national law for the non cooperation with the DPA to the amount of EUR 1,158.
