Summary

The Italian DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 1,000 on Danta di Cadore Hunting Reserve. The data controller installed cameras to monitor wildlife in its reserve. Footage captured by these cameras was later used in a court case in which the data subject was the defendant. Although capturing images of a natural person was not the intention, the data controller failed to indicate the presence of the cameras in the affected areas.
