Summary

The Polish DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 6,292 on a private individual. It was found that the controller had installed a CCTV system that covered not only his own property, but also public property, thereby recording the images and voices of his neighbours. He was served with an order to stop recording, but did not respond. The police therefore removed the cameras. After that, the controller installed a new system, which he again used to report neighbours to law enforcement. The new system covered nearly the whole street and 30 neighbouring data subjects.
