Summary

THe Hungarian DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 70,300 on Blikk Kft. The controller, a media company, published news articles regarding a court proceeding involving a transgender person. The controller published the data subject's former and current identity, together with other personal data and photographs of the person, even though their face was not visible, and despite the data subject having objected. The controller could not justify the publication of the personal data on a sufficient legal basis, and also failed to respond to the data subject's lawyer's request to delete the personal data.
