Summary

The Spanish DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 18,000 on RAMÓN GRAU, S.L. The controller used video surveillance in areas where employees were working. The camera system could also record sound and had been used to monitor employees. The controller had no sufficient legal basis for this processing and failed to adequately inform data subjects about it, especially regarding the capability to record sounds. The original fine of EUR 30,000 was reduced to EUR 18,000 due to immediate payment and admission of responsibility by the controller.
