Summary

The Romanian DPA has imposed a fine of EUR 2,000 on Modaone SRL. An individual had filed a complaint with the DPA for having received advertising messages by e-mail, although they had objected to receiving such messages and this had been confirmed to them by the controller.
In the course of its investigation, the DPA also found that the controller had not provided data subjects with sufficient, correct and up-to-date information about the processing of their personal data. In addition, the DPA found that the requirements for exercising data subject rights were inadequate.
